Joe Gaiter:Do you consider yourself an underdog in the draft?
Kendial Lawrence: I do consider myself an underdog with our team not having as much success the first year in the SEC as we expected.
Joe Gaiter:What do you have to offer an NFL team?
Kendial Lawrence:I have a lot to offer. I love the game of football and my hard work and confidence keeps me motivated to help any program in any way I can. I’ve been blessed with great vision, speed, and strength to be an every down back or plate.
Joe Gaiter:What are some things that you learned from your college football experience?
Kendial Lawrence: I learned that you must work out like the best in order to be the best. Also film study, taking care of your body from ice tubs to supplements to stretching 3-4 times a day could ultimately help your performance on every game day! I learned play every down or game like us your last!
Joe Gaiter: Why should a NFL team draft you?
Kendial Lawrence: The NFL should draft me because this is the profession that I’m looking to have. I work hard. I do everything I have to do on and off the field to make sure I’m the best at my position. I invest so much into this game and my love for football and my skills transfer on the field when you see me dying a game.

Joe Gaiter:What are the keys for someone to successfully play your position?
Kendial Lawrence:The keys to successful play my position is to be a tough hard nosed runner who truly believes in himself when no one does. You have to take care of your body because you could carry it a lot all season. Have to work on your speed and strength and cuts and quickness to make sure you are always at your best game. Film study is really important. You have to know your opponent and be able to read defenses to help you vision do its job when you get the ball! Also, know your offensive lineman and have a relationship with them because that’s your bread and butter and the key to your performance.
Joe Gaiter: Do you have a backup plan if you don’t get drafted?
Kendial Lawrence:Yes, I plan to use my degree that I’m receiving from the University of Missouri. With the components of business, communication, and sports management I plan to follow one of those steps as my back up plan.
Joe Gaiter: What player in the NFL has your style of play?
Kendial Lawrence:Players that play my style I’d have to say Chris Johnson. Jamaal Charles , Maurice Jones-Drew, Ray Rice, Stephen Ridley, C. J. Spiller, Javid Best and JaQuizz Rogers. Mostly all the smaller scat backs who have guys and heart and believe they can be every down backs and do it all for the team
Joe Gaiter:Do you feel that you are at your best?
Kendial Lawrence: I do not feel that I am at my best. Everyday I learn something different in life whether its workout or has to do something with life situations. I feel I will only get better as I get older.
Joe Gaiter:What do you want your football legacy to be?
Kendial Lawrence:That I was someone who has hearts and guts to give his all every play, quarter, and game despite his size and what other say about him! Someone who doesn’t talk much but lets his skills show up when it’s time to perform.
Joe Gaiter:Final Words?
Kendial Lawrence: I want to thank my Parents (Hortencia and Kendrick Lawrence ) for the way they raised me and all they have done for me. Also want to thanks my brothers Kendrick and Kenneth for always being there for me through the ups and down and always being positive around me. Finally, I would like to thank my family on both sides for having the most faith, love and care anyone could ever have for me. Thank y’all.
